Officer Jason Douglas

By Marylin Corsiglia

Several years ago, while serving on Vestry we made a very difficult decision to have a security presence at the Church during Sunday services. My husband Robin was the liaison with the Ocala Police Department. This is how I met, and got to know Officer Jason Douglas as he provided security many Sundays. He along with Eric Hooper (and others) kept watch while we worshipped. Many times, while it was my turn for “Vestry Lock-up” after services I stood outside Officer Douglas’ car and discussed a wide variety of subjects including what was happening at Grace, Ocala and the nation.

As previous mentioned in “Grace to You” Officer Douglas has been diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia and has been receiving treatment at Shands since February 28. 2021. Our prayers are already lifting Officer Douglas up for healing. Please join me in donating financial support for Officer Douglas and his family as they navigate this difficult time in their lives.

If you would like to make a donation to assist Officer Douglas, please make checks payable to Grace Episcopal Church. Please mark in the memo line “Officer Douglas”. Collections will be from April 5 – April 30, 2021.
