Mary Baggs interviewing Martha Williamson

What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11

Briefly tell us about a recent fun activity* you and or your family participated in and why.

This past Christmas season we started with cooking and serving Christmas eve dinner for twelve, including the youngest great grandchild, Gamble. On Christmas day we enjoyed hosting an open house for the family to stop by. The season ended with the family decorating our golf cart with big cutouts of reindeers placed on top, lights and various holiday décor. We watched the kids as they followed the golf cart parade route in the neighborhood, with over 100 golf carts participating. Event proceeds benefitted local charity.

Do you have a recipe or take-out meal recommendation you would like to share?

Everyone loves my sweet potato casserole, and when I’ve brought it to other family members, they’ve jokingly told me, “that’s your chicken in the door”. For takeout we love the baked spaghetti and pizza at LaBella’s, yet Longhorn’s is also always good!

With Lenten season around the corner (Ash Wednesday is February 17) what have you either given up and/or took on during a prior Lenten Season. Share what worked for you and why.

One year I gave up sugar and it was a challenge. I admit to having a sweet tooth.
