Mary Baggs interviewing Amy Robertson
1-What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?
My verse comes from a favorite Psalm which happened to be in last Sunday's reading which Father Daniel used in his sermon on lament - "Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10. This is my reset button when I feel doubt, anger, discontent, or other bad feelings creeping into my heart.
2-Briefly tell us about a recent fun activity* you and or your family participated in and why.
My idea of fun has certainly changed during the past year, but I recently had a great time shopping at Target and having lunch on the beach with my mom and oldest son who was visiting. The three of us had not made a Target run together since he was a little boy and having Mom out (thanks to vaccination) was such a pleasure. The banter and laughter we shared was priceless.
3-Do you have a favorite recipe or take-out meal recommendation you would like to share?
My favorite meals are eaten in a bowl. I love to make soups in the winter and salads in the summer and I do not follow a recipe. I add protein with lots of different veggies, fruit and fresh herbs - it's hard to go wrong with that.
4- Beginning Monday April 12, Father Frans will be hosting weekly Alpha classes. This means you can invite your friends, colleagues, or family members who have questions about God. What would you say to invite/ encourage guests to these free exploratory online sessions?
There are quite a few folks I would love to see take advantage of these classes with Father Frans - some in my own family. Letting them know that there is no pressure, no judgement, and no need to feel intimidated will make them feel more comfortable. They can ask questions, or just listen and Father Frans is very approachable. Prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit to give me the words will also be necessary.
Amy is on the left, her mother on the right.
