Meet The Musicians: Part Three!

Shane Bass

Shane Bass is a third-generation, born and raised Ocala native. Currently, he is the Director of Vocal Music and Fine Arts Department Chair at Weeki Wachee High School, where he has been teaching for the past three years. Prior to his current assignment, he worked at Vanguard High School as a band and theatre instructor from 2009-2014, and as the full-time Director of Bands and Choir from 2014-2019. Shane is a member of many professional organizations, including the Florida Vocal Association, Florida Music Education Association, National Association for Music Educators, American Choral Director Association, Florida Association for Theatre Educators, and the Educational Theatre Association. From July 2022-June 2024, he will serve as the District Five Chair for the Florida Vocal Association.

Shane has a strong passion for all forms of music and has performed with many ensembles in Ocala and throughout the state of Florida. He has participated in the Festival Singers of Florida since 2019, a professional choir of over 100 singers, performed with the Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band, and performed in over 50 shows at Ocala Civic Theatre.

Shane loves to spend time with his family and friends. He is a board game connoisseur and enjoys finding and playing obscure games with his family and friends. Shane is very fortunate to be a member of the Grace Worship team and loves being a “cog in the machine” every Sunday.

Alexia Kirshfield

Growing up in a non-musical family has allowed Alexia to view all her musical experiences from a fresh, bright perspective, and although she may not have always known what she wanted to do, Alexia knew that she wanted to be a part of the world of music. Her most recent experiences, including being hired to sing with the worship team at Grace Episcopal Church, have led her to pursue her bachelor’s degree in both Voice Performance and Music Composition. Since then, she has had the opportunity to study in the city of Tampa underneath directors and composers from the University of Tampa and the St. Petersburg Opera Company. Alexia hopes to broaden her musical experiences while sharing her love of music with others. She also wants to thank those at Grace Episcopal Church for sharing their community and their love of music with her.
