An important part of our liturgy is music. Cultures have their unique styles of music and so do churches.
Grace has a nice blend of hymns and praise songs. I like the variety.
The high quality musicians and voices associated with Grace Church encourage me in my worship of the Lord. I am personally grateful for Adam Pryor and his leadership of our Sunday worship. Recently Adam fired up the choir again and it's been an encouragement both to the voices and to those of us who hear them.
Piano, organ, cello, violin and various percussion enhance our worship in a beautiful way. Each musician uses their artistic gift in a way that glorifies God.
Let's pray for our musicians, singers, and artists, thanking God for their gifting, and for helping us to worship well.
Please take a moment to pray this prayer from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP:819):
O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled forevermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
