  • gratefulness campaign

    October 1-31

October is Gratefulness Month at Grace. It will be a time for us to reflect on God’s many gifts to us. We will consider how God works in and through us when we not only are thankful for these gifts but when we also seek ways to show our thankfulness. Putting our feelings into action changes us and the world.

We have published a Gratefulness Devotional Journal with entries for each day of October. We hope these stories of gratitude will help you reflect on the things for which you are grateful.

King David wrote: I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. (Psalm 9:1) David was moved to write beautiful poetry and songs. What have your feelings of thankfulness led you to do?

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the candidates "express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop." Those who have been sacramentally confirmed in the Roman Catholic or Orthodox Church have already made a mature Christian commitment are received into the fellowship of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. Those who have returned from a time of religious inactivity to an active practice of faith may publicly reaffirm their baptismal vows. Others who have experienced a renewal of faith or desire to renew their Christian commitment may also reaffirm their baptismal vows.

Seven weeks of study will lead candidates through what it means to be a Christian and a member of the one holy catholic and apostolic church.
