Early Learning VPK
Meet the Team
Shirley Webb and Jim, her husband of 48 years, have been Ocalans since 1986. They have two married children, five grandchildren and a rambunctious dog. For 22 years, Mrs. Webb was a teacher at Shady Hill Elementary. Over the years, she has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Fourth Grades. She has earned a Florida Directors Credential and holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. After teaching for 37 years, Mrs. Webb retired from the public school system but wasn't ready to retire from working with young children. She received a call to become Grace Episcopal Early Learning Center/VPK's first director. Here she continues to be involved in the joys and blessings of working with preschoolers and their families.
Lise Kent and husband Richard have resided in Ocala for the past twenty plus years. Together they have raised three daughters. After spending many years involved in her daughters' school, volunteering in classrooms and school plays, the empty nest sent her scurrying for another opportunity to work with young school children. Being back in the Lively House where her girls attended kindergarten and working with the VPK program is a perfect fit for her.
Beryl Brown and Daniel, her husband of 13 years, live in Ocala. Mrs. Brown taught Pre-K for 13 years but over the years she has taught Exceptional Students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. She holds a Master's Degree in Psychology. Mrs. Brown recognizes that the first few years of a child's life are highly formative and influential. She looks forward to her new season here at Grace and continues to be committed to children and providing a nurturing, stimulating and loving environment to develop each child socially emotionally, physcially and spiritually.
